Annelle Flesner Hazlett of Waimea, died on September 23, 2012 at the age of 74.  She was born December 6, 1937, in Monona, Iowa, to Merlin and Beulah (Holtkamp) Flesner, was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and graduated from Monona High School.

Annelle attended Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa and graduated from University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls.  She taught school in California, and she was a substitute teacher in California and on Kauai.

Annelle lived on Kauai from 1968 to 1979 and from 1985 to her death.

She was employed as a Program Manager by WFI Government Services, which was renamed as Kratos Government Solutions, from January 1996 until her retirement in August 2008.  She worked for other government contractors (SRS Technologies and GE Government Services) at Pacific Missile Range Facility, and she was involved in real estate on Kauai and in California.

Annelle was married to Arthur Frank Hazlett, Jr. at Monona, Iowa, on July 31, 1960.  They lived in various Southern California cities before moving to Kauai in 1968.  They returned to California in 1979 due to family illnesses, and they moved back to Kauai in 1985 after the deaths of her mother, Beulah Flesner, and her father-in-law, Arthur Frank Hazlett, Sr.

She was active in church, as a choir member and organist; volunteered with her children's Scout troops, served in a number of leadership roles in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts; was a member of Family Community Education, Hanapepe, and enjoyed traveling.

Preceding her in death were her mother, her father, her brother, Harold Wienke, and her husband, Arthur.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony (Sue) of Mountain House, California, and Alexander (Karen), of Honolulu; one daughter, Alicia (Bill) Hartsell of Kekaha; three grandchildren, Annalissa Hartsell of Chicago, Devon and Wyatt Hartsell of Kekaha; her foster brother, Charles (Norma) Graybill of Hiawatha, Iowa; and numerous relatives in Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota.
